We spent New Year's Eve at this Ryokan with my mother. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and had a very pleasant stay. The handmade events, such as serving New Year's soba noodles, an in-house stamp rally, countdown celebration, sunrise visit with the hostess

This was an area we rarely visit. Although the weather was unfortunate on the day of our arrival, the next day was clear, and we had a stunning view of Mount Fuji. The sea was calm, and we are considering coming back next year for a beach trip with our grandchildren. The staff

It was great. The food was fairly good, and the staff were polite and attentive, making it an enjoyable trip.

The moment you step onto the in-room terrace, you’re greeted by a breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji stretching beyond Suruga Bay. In the daytime, its ridgeline is crisp and clear; at dusk, the sun sinks into the sea; and in the morning, the contrast of pure blue sky and white snow is stunning. The scenery changes hour by hour, and simply watching it feels wonderfully indulgent. The open-air bath in the room is designed so you can soak while facing Mt. Fuji head-on. There’s also a private sauna—enjoy löyly, then cool down outdoors. That deep sense of reset, wrapped in sea breeze and spectacular views, was truly exceptional. Dinner is a course featuring local ingredients. Spiny lobster, locally caught fish, Shizuoka wagyu—each dish is carefully prepared to highlight the quality of the ingredients. The tableware and presentation are beautiful as well, making it perfect for anniversaries or special stays. And personally, my favorite moment was having a beer on the terrace at sunset time. A drink while watching the ocean and sunset brought a happiness beyond words. “An Accommodation designed to showcase Mt. Fuji at its most beautiful.” That description fits perfectly. A place I will definitely return to again.

Every aspect of the service—Room, course meals, and hospitality—was truly top-notch! The Room offers sweeping views of both the sea and mountains from the window. You can enjoy the sunset and sunrise all to yourself, take a nap to birdsong, and fully immerse yourself in nature. There are few places where you can feel this connected to nature, making it perfect for anyone looking to escape the noise of the city (also ideal for a workcation!). The course meals were another highlight: a chef’s carefully crafted creations featuring plenty of seasonal ingredients. The menu included hand-drawn illustrations by the chef along with notes about the inspiration behind each dish—it felt like eating art in a wonderfully unique way. As for hospitality, we were invited to a strawberry farm and even received bread as a gift, along with many thoughtful touches throughout our stay. Overall, it was an exceptional experience!

Our family of four stayed for one night over the New Year holidays, and it was a wonderful stay that far exceeded our expectations. As it has only been two months since opening, the Accommodation was exceptionally clean and beautiful. The living room—about 50 m²—felt modern yet warm, with thoughtful attention to detail throughout. There is a wood-burning fireplace, and spending time there while playing our favorite music through the large speakers was truly special. One entire wall facing the sea is made of windows, and watching the sun set into the horizon from the living room left us speechless. The spacious terrace also offers an incredible sense of openness. The bath with sauna features modern marble design, and soaking while enjoying the outdoor view was deeply relaxing both physically and mentally. Another highlight is the long stay: check-in at 15:00 and check-out at 15:00 the next day, allowing you to unwind and fully enjoy an extraordinary getaway. Meals are arranged at a restaurant at “LOQUAT Nishiizu,” about a 15-minute drive away. The restaurant is set in a beautifully renovated traditional house with great character—completely different in atmosphere from the Accommodation—so it feels like enjoying two Hotels in one trip. It was also surprising (in a great way) that three meals are included for a one-night, two-day stay. Dinner—the Italian course—was excellent, so we chose to have even the complimentary lunch on the following day as a full course as well, and it did not disappoint. The staff were outstanding too. From arrival to departure we were assisted by one dedicated attendant who provided truly wonderful service. Everyone clearly has strong passion for energizing Nishiizu, actively taking on new initiatives such as strawberry picking exclusively for guests. This is an Accommodation I would love many people to experience.

We apologize for any concern caused by traveling with an elderly person, and we truly appreciate all your thoughtful support. In particular, the female staff member was very kind—accompanying us on the stairs and preparing a thin cushion for the dining chair, which we greatly appreciated. Thank you as well for keeping the dried fish we purchased in your freezer. The Room was spacious, and the meals were delicious. If I had to mention one thing, it would have been nice to have something like a slatted mat or a small area in the large bathroom where we could change without getting our feet wet. We would love to visit again.
