    Fuji

Unfortunately, due to the rain, we could only see part of Mt. Fuji this time. However, we were very satisfied with the warm hospitality of the staff and the delicious meals that were more than enough to enjoy. We plan to visit again on a day with better weather. Thank you for your care!

    It was great.

Meals were served in a lovely private room, incredibly delicious, and more than enough to eat. The staff provided attentive care and were very pleasant. Unfortunately, Mount Fuji was obscured by clouds, but I would love to stay here again.

The staff provided a soothing and relaxing experience.

This stay included aquarium tickets. The accommodation was right next to the aquarium. On the way back, they kept our car for us, so we didn’t have to worry about parking fees at the aquarium, which was very convenient. The room, though showing its age, was well-cleaned. The room was spacious with a great view. Mount Fuji could be seen clearly and beautifully. The onsen had a good temperature but wasn’t quite to my personal preference. As for meals, the portions were too large, and I felt sorry for leaving quite a bit behind. It would be nice if there were a smaller portion option available. Above all else, the staff at this accommodation were truly wonderful; everyone was very pleasant and welcoming. Thank you for taking care of us!

    Pleasant hospitality

We used it for our 10th wedding anniversary. The hospitality was very high, and we were very grateful for the celebration, making it a very good experience. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and my wife was satisfied, which made me feel at ease. Especially the meals were not only tasty but also plentiful in quantity, providing full satisfaction. Our first-grade daughter had a serving comparable to an adult's and couldn't finish it all, but it was a special experience. Room service is indeed exceptional. Recently, due to labor shortages and other factors, Ryokans offering room service seem to be decreasing in number; I think it's a luxury. As for why it's not rated five stars—perhaps it's the cost performance? Due to my work, I stay at various places domestically and internationally; however, from a cost-performance perspective, there seems to be much competition still present. In any case, I am grateful for the wonderful experience.

    Birthday Celebration

I stayed to celebrate my father's birthday. From the reception staff to the Room attendants, everyone provided very courteous service, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. The Room was spacious with a great view, and the bath was so pleasant—absolutely perfect! We could see Mount Fuji both from the Room and the bath. The meals were visually stunning and delicious, leaving us completely satisfied. Additionally, they celebrated my father's birthday, which deeply moved him. The furnishings throughout the Property were exquisite, and the gallery on the first floor is a must-see. It became a wonderful memory. I look forward to staying again.

    A Healing Property

Last year, I stayed with my mother and sister. The Room, lobby, and large public bath offered stunning views of Mount Fuji, the meals were delicious, and paintings by famous artists were displayed everywhere. I thought my husband, who loves art, would surely be satisfied, so this year, I stayed with my husband and mother. The view of Mount Fuji from this tranquil seaside Property is endlessly captivating, and just like last year, it became a heartwarming and healing trip. The staff were all very pleasant, and both the Room and the bath were impeccably clean. My husband, who loves art, was also very satisfied. When I mentioned it was our wedding anniversary, they kindly prepared red rice and a commemorative gift during dinner, which made me very happy. I would love to visit again next year during winter when Mount Fuji is at its most beautiful.

Thank you for your hospitality at the end of the year. The bath with a view of Mt. Fuji from the room, delicious meals, and pleasant service helped relieve the fatigue of the year. Thank you for the early birthday present. It is a property I would definitely like to visit again.

    I visited for a celebration. I think it's a wonderful Stays.

We stayed for two nights to celebrate our daughter's Shichi-Go-San. The service at the Ryokan was very polite and wonderful. The view of Mt. Fuji from the Room was also excellent. The meals were delicious and plentiful, enough to fill even a man's stomach, and we enjoyed breakfast and dinner for two days. We received red rice and a lovely gift for our daughter's celebration. Overall, I think it is a wonderful Ryokan.

    Only the weather was disappointing...

We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room with a semi-open-air bath for three people. The room was spacious and relaxing, with a convenient layout as the washroom and dressing room were separate. Meals were served in a completely private room, allowing us to enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine without worrying about others' eyes, making for a pleasant time. The building itself was a bit old, which was unavoidable, but both the common areas and the room were clean, which was nice. However, I felt the customer service was a bit excessive, which concerned me. The towels had Mt. Fuji embroidery, and even the coasters featured Mt. Fuji. It was a property that promoted Mt. Fuji, and the view was supposed to be excellent, but unfortunately, the weather was not favorable, and we only managed to catch a faint glimpse of Mt. Fuji upon arrival. I would like to visit again for a rematch.

It was a property with a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji and attentive service from the staff.

13:30 Arrival at the Stays. Received a discount ticket for the neighboring Mito Sea Paradise (800 yen cheaper than usual) and left the car with the valet service before checking in at 15:00. The attendant made tea for us, and we relaxed while enjoying two types of sweets. The view of Mount Fuji over Suruga Bay from the window is spectacular, and I think this is the main attraction of our Property. It never gets old. It's a shame that the opportunity to see it decreases in the summer. After a bath in the large public bath, it was nice to enjoy the free drink service, including beer, in the lobby. Dinner was served in the Room with creative Japanese cuisine. From appetizers to Saikyo-yaki, steak, and octopus rice, we were fully satisfied. The atmosphere created by the veteran staff, who warmly served with a customer-first approach, made it a truly pleasant stay at the Stays.

First time at a Ryokan. We visited for a Kanreki celebration!

This was our first visit to celebrate my parents' 60th birthday. We were warmly welcomed by many staff members, and I was glad we chose this place. The free drink service included coffee, soft drinks, and beer, which delighted my beer-loving father. We could see Mt. Fuji from the space where we enjoyed the free drinks and from our room. The clouds were clear, offering a perfect view. The meals were delicious and satisfying in quantity. The cake and red rice were very tasty. The breakfast had an impressive variety, and everything was delicious. Bread was provided for the children, which was very helpful. The children's tableware had cute rabbit designs, which made them very happy. We had a private room, allowing us to eat leisurely without worrying about others. The view from the private room was also lovely, and we could see the sunset in the evening. The staff was very kind to the children, which was greatly appreciated. The futons had double cushions underneath, which was very helpful for my back pain, allowing me to sleep soundly. I was impressed as I had never seen a Ryokan with double cushions before. The entire facility was well-cleaned. There was an aquarium nearby, and we could enjoy it until closing time. There was also a convenience store within walking distance, which was great for buying necessities or snacks at night. The Ryokan wasn't extremely large, but it exuded luxury and was very nice. There was an art gallery in the basement with many beautiful paintings displayed. The Onsen had an open-air bath, allowing us to enjoy the moon and stars, which was very pleasant. After the bath, we could enjoy ice cream and read manga. It was relaxing, and drinks were also available. Although I wanted to stay longer, there weren't many seats, so we had to share. The family was thrilled with the travel gift, thanks to this Ryokan. I would love to stay here again if I have the opportunity. When we left, the staff brought our car to the entrance and kindly cleaned the windows, which was a nice touch. The attention to detail, even at the end, was very pleasing. The spirit of hospitality was present at all times, which made me very happy. Thank you very much for this experience.

We visited with three generations, including my elderly parents and son. The entire facility is adorned with paintings by famous artists, making it feel like an art gallery. My father, who used to work in the art field, was also amazed. Everything was very tasteful and elegant, and it truly healed us from the heart. The meals were delicious in taste and beautiful in appearance. Even my middle school-aged son was satisfied with the ample portions. Mount Fuji was beautifully visible both from the bath and from the Room (no bath, third floor). We would love to visit again.

The view from the room was fantastic!

I stayed with a friend. For future development, I have given a slightly critical evaluation. Please understand. First, when we were shown to the room and setting meal times, a staff member referred to my friend as "father," which was offensive. In this day and age, with diversity, such a way of addressing is inappropriate. Even though we did not refer to him as "father," it was presumptuous to say so. If the relationship is unclear, it should be "companion." I think this is standard in high-class ryokans and hotels. Also, during the meal, a staff member asked, "What is the purpose of your visit?" and I thought internally, isn't it obvious that we came for the onsen, food, and relaxation? We did not come to stay to talk with the staff, so I would have preferred some restraint. Since you have acquired a hot spring source, I believe many guests will visit in the future. Therefore, how about studying the nuances and atmosphere between guests and staff? The art installations within the facility were very good. Also, the details such as towels, disposable chopsticks, and free water bottles in the room with the ryokan's name printed on them were very well done. I was happy to receive a souvenir at the end. It was very good, but the soft aspects were disappointing. I support your future development.

Please refrain from making promises that cannot be guaranteed.

I used it for a celebration, but I was very disappointed. I was aware that it was not possible to guarantee a dining location, but I contacted them in advance, saying, "I understand that it cannot be guaranteed, but I would like a private dining room if possible." In such cases, it is common to receive a reply stating, "We cannot guarantee it, but we will do our best to accommodate your request," but there was no such response, and I was informed that it would be a private dining room. On the day of check-in, I was told that meals would be served in the room. When I showed the email to the front desk for confirmation, a young man went to the back to check and said, "It's already arranged, so it will be in the room." I don't know if it was a communication error or an overbooking issue, but when I couldn't accept the explanation of "it's already arranged," he went back again, and after a while, another man came out. He said that due to an air conditioning failure, they had changed the arrangement without notice, even though it was confirmed by email. That person was half-smiling (which might be considered friendly in normal circumstances, but in that situation, it didn't feel sincere at all), and frankly, it upset me. When I checked if the other arrangements were properly made, I was told, "Don't worry about that," but everything felt insincere. While the air conditioning failure is understandable, the initial response trying to convince me with "it's already arranged" felt like a temporary lie, and they should have informed me in advance that they couldn't arrange a private room. I checked in around 2:45 PM, which was early, and many people arrived after me, so I don't understand the criteria for switching to in-room dining among the reservations that guaranteed a private room. The fact that they didn't inform me in advance makes me suspect that they forgot to arrange the private room. It feels like the special celebration I had prepared for was ruined. You accommodate many guests daily, so the dining venue might be a minor issue, but ending with a light apology was truly unpleasant. The reason for the in-room dining was unclear, and the series of responses were unpleasant. Even after returning from the trip, I still can't accept it. Paying a considerable amount for that experience leaves me with zero satisfaction, and I find it questionable.

    Like a second home!

This is my third stay. Unfortunately, it was cloudy this time and I couldn't see Mt. Fuji, but my heart was filled with satisfaction that more than made up for it. The staff's thoughtfulness, friendly kindness, and smiles are heartwarming. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were very delicious, with a wide variety of ingredients, making it the perfect menu for someone like me who wants to try a little bit of everything. The array of dishes was also wonderful, to the point where I found myself admiring each one. Furthermore, I was moved by the beauty of the persimmon painting on the paper placed under the dishes. I thought it was drawn by a resident artist (master) who frequents here, but to my surprise, it was the work of a staff member who loves to paint. Shoutoukan is truly amazing, with talented people working here. Both the large public bath and the room's bath are clean, and the water is smooth, like a natural beauty serum. It makes your skin smooth. I'm grateful. No matter how much I praise it, it's not enough; we really love Shoutoukan. It feels like a second home. It's too comfortable! We will definitely come again, so please take care of us.

The meals were particularly disappointing and did not match the accommodation cost at all. After all, meals are important at a luxury Ryokan!

    It was wonderful.

We chose this place for a long-awaited family trip with our children who live far away, as it offers views of Mt. Fuji and the sea. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy, and Mt. Fuji was often hidden, but the Room and bath were comfortable, and the food was delicious, leaving us very satisfied. Our family has many food aversions, but we were accommodated, which was very helpful. There is also a lot of art in the facility, with many works by famous painters hanging in the corridors, which was a feast for the eyes. We also enjoyed the neighboring sightseeing boat and Sea Paradise, making it a fun trip. Thank you very much.

    Loves my mother

I invited my elderly mother, who has had fewer opportunities to travel, for a change of pace. Unfortunately, she wasn't feeling well, but we were fortunate to see the silhouette of Mount Fuji in a fantastical view, which moved her. We enjoyed a leisurely meal served in the Room, and she unusually finished everything, saying it was delicious. Most importantly, the attendant realized from our conversation during the meal that it was recently my mother's birthday and kindly prepared a surprise gift of a small Mount Fuji plate. We couldn't thank them at checkout, so I would like to express my gratitude once again. Thank you for the wonderful memories. We would love to visit in the spring.

A property that heals both body and mind.

The hospitality and meals were particularly wonderful. The artworks inside the building were amazing and I enjoyed them. If I may make a request, I would like the temperature of the Onsen to be a little higher.

    Delicious

I chose this accommodation for its view of Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately, I couldn't see Mt. Fuji. The room was very user-friendly and felt spacious. What I particularly liked were the comfortable floor chairs, the air conditioning in the bedroom, and the shower room. The food was really delicious. The service was visually pleasing as well. Next time, I want to visit in winter to see Mt. Fuji and also plan to come during the fireworks.

    To your heart's content...

What impressed me the most were the first-class furnishings and artworks scattered throughout the place. It's no exaggeration to call it the Shoto Art Museum. Also, the ocean view at twilight, with the calm evening sea and sightseeing boats visible from the window, offers a higher level of hospitality where time flows leisurely. It was worth the recommendation. The cuisine was also delightful, with creative touches within the Japanese style, allowing us to fully enjoy the happiness it brought. I look forward to the next opportunity to visit.

A luxurious inn where you can immerse yourself in the tranquil fishing village scenery.

Surrounded by fishing boats, a port, an old aquarium, and a row of rundown inns, this inn alone boasts a luxurious appearance. The interior is also beautiful, and the guest rooms offer a comfortable space that makes good use of the old elements. I was concerned that the hot spring had a slightly disinfectant smell. Additionally, the meals were ordinary. Given the location, I would have preferred more seafood. Although the weather was bad and I couldn't see Mount Fuji at all, it was a pleasant stay to immerse myself in the tranquil scenery.

I was able to refresh myself and was satisfied.

The accommodation was perfect except for the bath. I couldn't tell if the bath was a hot spring. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were satisfying. Although it was cloudy all day and we weren't blessed with the scenery, if the weather is good, you should have a perfect view of Mount Fuji. The amenities were well-prepared, and I haven't stayed at a place recently that was so well-equipped (I haven't seen this at other accommodations). Also, the staff were always smiling and greeting us, and they were all very pleasant people; I haven't encountered such great employees recently. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

The dinner was very good. It was not only creative but also fresh and delicious, which made the sake go down smoothly. The view from the room was wonderful. I wanted to see Mt. Fuji, so I stayed in a slightly luxurious room. Although I couldn't see Mt. I stayed for the first time. I was really satisfied with the facilities and the service, but the menu seemed to be the same no matter where I stayed! It was a wonderful inn!

Unfortunately, it was raining on the day we stayed, but the next day it cleared up, and we had an amazing view of Mt. Fuji from our room! The room was very spacious and partitioned with sliding doors, so we could enjoy the open-air bath in the room without any worries. There were so many sliding doors that I almost got lost (lol). However, my husband has back pain, so the chair in the room hurt his back, and he would have preferred a sofa. It would have been easier for him if there was a handrail at the entrance of the room as well. The meals were very delicious and carefully prepared, but the grilled horse mackerel in the morning was a bit tough. We were able to enjoy our meals slowly in a private room, and the view lifted our spirits, but it would have been even better with some background music. We talked about how it would be exciting if jazz was playing even with Japanese cuisine. Overall, the attention to detail was impressive, and it's one of the inns we would like to visit again! Thank you very much.

    It became a memorable trip.

We stayed as a family for my father's retirement celebration trip. Unfortunately, the weather was not favorable, and we couldn't see Mount Fuji, but we were able to spend a relaxing time together as a family. We had informed them that it was a retirement celebration trip, and they were very considerate, which deeply moved my father. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with each dish being very tasty, and it was nice to enjoy them leisurely in a private room. The hot springs were also wonderful. If I have acquaintances going to the Izu area, I would recommend this place. It was a memorable stay. Thank you very much.
