Hotel Mori no Kaze Hakone Sengokuhara

We arrived close to the check-in deadline and apologize for any concern we may have caused. The upgraded Room was outstanding, and both the open-air bath and the view from it were amazing. The service was also smooth and professional. The lockers at the Onsen were thoughtfully designed, very easy to use, and completely stress-free. We stayed to celebrate our son’s graduation and enjoyed the best relaxation. More than anything, we regret that we couldn’t arrive early enough to make full use of the facilities.

My sister and I visited Hakone for the first time in three years.We chose this Hotel planning to relax, soak in the Onsen, and enjoy good food—and we truly had a restful stay.The Room was spotless, the Onsen water felt wonderfully soft, the meals were delicious, and despite the number of Rooms, we rarely ran into other guests. Perhaps it’s thanks to the layout and design of the buildings.We stayed on the second floor in a Room with an open-air bath, but it felt a little far from both the restaurant and the large public baths.Each of the two large public bath areas has multiple indoor baths as well as several open-air baths, so we were able to enjoy different tubs both at night and in the morning. It was a day when there was still snow along parts of the old Hakone Tokaido trail and mountain roadsides, but all of the baths were kept at a comfortable temperature in the 41°C range.The last time I stayed overnight in Hakone, I chose an Accommodation with great Reviews as well, but ended up disappointed for various reasons—and on top of that I got worn out by traffic jams and crowds around Yumoto. This time, choosing Sengokuhara for our Accommodation (and sightseeing nearby) was absolutely the right decision.There were several daisugi cedars planted near the Hotel entrance and in its courtyard—trees you rarely see even in Japanese gardens these days—and together with elements like artwork throughout the building, it created a pleasantly Japanese atmosphere that left me with a very positive impression.
