Teradomari Cape Onsen Hotel Asuka

My spouse and I stayed here in April to try the new-style made-to-order buffet. We arrived well before check-in, but thanks to the staff’s kindness, they gladly opened the guests-only lounge for us.The lounge had just been renovated in April and was bright and spotless. The complimentary drinks included delicious coffee with flavor options like nuts and orange, and there were snacks as well—very Niigata-like, such as kaki-no-tane rice crackers. Near the entrance, a “Globe-Trotter Travel Guide: Niigata Edition” was casually placed out. We also relaxed here after bathing.Dinner was a buffet ordered by smartphone for the first time for us. It was easy to use, service was fast, and best of all, freshly prepared dishes arrived without having to leave our seats. The ingredients were abundant—premium domestic bluefin tuna, nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), snow crab, pufferfish, scallops, abalone, and more! The meat dishes and mountain vegetables were also excellent. One note: if you order a large amount at once, everything arrives on substantial plates that can overwhelm your table space—so it’s better to order in several rounds.Breakfast is a standard buffet style as well, with sashimi, tempura, a DIY seafood bowl station—and unlimited Yasuda Yogurt drinks. My wife had fun creating different combinations: spring cabbage menchi-katsu with morning curry; sauce katsu & omelet sandwiches; Tsumari soba with tempura plus Onsen egg (hot spring egg), okra, and grated yam toppings… There was also takeaway coffee at the entrance of the venue. The cute toki-themed dishware was lovely.Lastly—a personal note—the Facility shows its age in places; it might be about time to replace the showerheads in the large public bath.We’re looking forward to the summer menu as well.Thank you very much for this stay.

It was my first stay, and the location was great—perfect for visiting everywhere I wanted to go on my trip. The sea-side Room was also very nice. I was satisfied with the made-to-order dinner buffet as well, since I didn’t have to keep going back and forth.
