We stayed here for our anniversary, and it was amazing. The fluffy, ice-cold hand towel at check-in was the best! Choosing the dinner-and-breakfast plan was absolutely the right call. For dinner, unfortunately we couldn’t see the sunset due to the weather, but we enjoyed a course meal at a seaside restaurant where you can watch the sunset on clear days. We ordered wine pairing, and they kindly switched my girlfriend’s red wine to a sweet dessert wine since she doesn’t like red—she was thrilled with how good it tasted! Personally, I loved the fish dish: Miyakojima’s premium local fish had firm yet juicy white flesh and was delicious. Since it was our anniversary, they also prepared a cake for us, and we enjoyed what we couldn’t finish later in our Room! For breakfast, we upgraded to a floating breakfast. It was surprisingly filling! You can choose either brown sugar waffles or eggs Benedict, and you can also select your time slot on a first-come basis. I recommend waking up early to enjoy the floating breakfast, have fun in the pool, and relax afterward. The bathtub was spacious enough for two to soak comfortably together, and the shower water pressure was strong—great as well! All of the staff were incredibly polite and attentive, making this trip truly memorable. If I ever have another chance to visit Miyakojima again, I will definitely stay here!

I booked a Room with a private bath for a trip with my mother. Although I wasn’t familiar with the area, the location is excellent, and you can enjoy a relaxing bath while looking out over Shirarahama Beach. Dinner and breakfast are also served in the in-Room dining area. The Room is spacious and comfortable, as it was created by combining two Rooms during renovation. There is also a massage chair by the window, perfect for relaxing while enjoying the view of Shirarahama Beach. The meals were delicious as well. I would love to stay again.

After strolling around Unzen Jigoku with my wife, we headed to Toen. We stayed in a Room called “Riyui.” It faces Oshidori Pond, and since we arrived at 3:00 p.m., we soaked in the open-air bath while casually gazing out over the pond from the Room. As time passed and it began to get slightly dark, I happened to look at the pond and saw the mountains behind us reflected on the surface of the water—it felt like a painting by Kaii Higashiyama. I kept looking again and again until nightfall, so moving that I almost expected a white horse to appear. I had assumed the Onsen would be similar because Unzen is known for its milky-white waters, but when I asked, I learned that Unzen has multiple layers of hot spring sources, and Toen’s Onsen is rich in iron. It was very gentle on the skin, and my wife was delighted. The in-Room amenities were thoughtfully arranged as well. The shampoo, treatment conditioner, body soap, etc. were single-use items, and even the hair dryer was a modern model—so we didn’t feel inconvenienced at all. Next is dining: this time dinner was served in our Room, and eating while looking out over the pond felt wonderful. The meal began with appetizers, but even those alone were filling; after that came Unzen Akaushi beef—exceptionally tender with very little fat. What made us especially happy was an extra dish not listed on the menu as part of a special perk: simmered golden eye snapper (Kinmedai). We were truly moved by this unexpected treat. The seasoning had gentle flavors with just enough accent to stand out—we could really feel the chef’s skill. Breakfast was served in the dining area, but it was also arranged so we could enjoy views of Oshidori Pond while eating. A generous amount is served from early morning. Since dinner the previous day was sushi there wasn’t any rice served then; however breakfast did include rice—and when we ate it, it had such a wonderful aroma and just the right moisture content that it made us genuinely happy. Lastly, there are many souvenirs lined up in the shop—so many that you’ll have trouble choosing. And all of the staff were cheerful and welcoming; thanks to their pleasant service both our bodies and minds felt refreshed. We’d love to visit Unzen again and stay with Toen once more. This Accommodation has a charming, nostalgic Showa-era feel. All the Facilities are old, but everything—down to the water faucets—is well polished and carefully maintained. Many of the staff are seasoned professionals, and their service is pleasantly welcoming. The meals were not overly large and were priced close to cost. At the end, they waved to us until we disappeared from view down the alleyway.

First, the temperature of the free-flowing natural Onsen in the Room was not too hot and very comfortable, so we enjoyed it many times. The food was also fresh and very delicious. We also appreciated your accommodating bedding for a family member with a down allergy. Thank you very much. There is a whisky bar on the first floor, and my husband, who loves drinks, was delighted. We would love to visit again.

I was very much looking forward to this stay. Although prices were high everywhere during the New Year season, I chose this place hoping for a somewhat better experience. The entrance and lobby decor were lovely, and while the portions of each dish were not large, the meals were very delicious. The miso soup at dinner was so tasty that I had seconds! Perhaps because I expected a certain level of quality from the Ryokan, some aspects stood out to me. The staff in charge of service and cooking appeared to be foreign nationals. While this is not an issue in itself, their Japanese was limited, which often required me to adjust how I communicated with them. It might have been just on that day, but it seemed they hadn't learned how to properly wear traditional kimono attire and still had much to learn about customer service. The room with an Onsen was absolutely wonderful; warm Onsen water constantly flowed into it, allowing me to enjoy it countless times during my stay. However, perhaps due to structural reasons, there was mold around the sink area and spider webs could also be seen—this part was disappointing.

We revisited with the much-anticipated Sushi Plan that we decided to try after being impressed by the view from the room last time! The cuisine exceeded our expectations—luxurious and delicious, it was absolutely worth it. While preparing meals ourselves is fun, enjoying professional flavors in a private space is truly exceptional. Once again, it was just the two of us staying, so the room felt incredibly spacious (laughs), but every corner was impeccably clean and exuded a sense of freshness. With this level of cleanliness, I’m sure even large family trips or group visits would be enjoyable for everyone. This was our second time using the unmanned check-in system, and it went smoothly. We had such a relaxing stay again! Next time, we’d love to bring along more people for an even bigger gathering!

My child and I stayed for two nights. The Hotel is conveniently located between the station and the Otaru Canal, making it a great base for exploring Otaru. It was easy to walk back and forth. Amenities are not provided in the Room, so being able to pick up only what we needed from next to the front desk was perfect for our two-night stay. The Room was stylish and very clean. We stayed on an upper floor, and the view was wonderful both morning and night, making it a great memory. Just seeing that view made us glad we chose this Hotel. Breakfast was different each day rather than the same both days, which makes a Multiple Night Stay even more enjoyable—and everything was delicious! One small note: the changing area of the large public bath is not very spacious, so I recommend going at a less busy time. The open-air bath was also great, with views outside. All staff were very kind, and even though it was just the two of us, we felt comfortable throughout our stay. We were very satisfied with this Hotel—thank you so much. We would love to stay again if we visit Otaru in the future. Thank you for helping us make such wonderful memories.
